I-NERGY Contribution to AIoD
The I-NERGY project is close to its ends. Among the main objectives of the project, one was developing new AI-based energy services fully aligned to AIoD (AI-on-Demand, formerly known as AI4EU) service requirements and strengthening the SME competitiveness on AI for energy. Another objective, not less relevant, was to deliver financial support through Open Calls to third parties SMEs for new energy use cases and technology building blocks validation.
This post summarises the collection of AI services developed in the frame of the I-NERGY project, either by the partners or the additional SMEs and companies taking part in the two Open Calls (Technology Transfer Programmes 1 and 2).
At the time of writing this post, 86 assets have been contributed to the AIoD Assets Catalogue, being 26 of them directly developed by I-NERGY partners, while the other 60 are the result of the technology transfer programmes. Datasets and AI-as-a-Service are the most commonly produced results. These figures will raise until the end of the project, for sure.
Among the I-NERGY assets prevail the use of open access licenses, with Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, 3-clause BSD license (BSD-3-Clause), GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) and GNU General Public License (GPL) v3 being the most widely used. The main research areas fitting with the developed assets are Physical AI, Collaborative AI, Integrative AI, and Explainable AI.
The infrastructure to develop and host the I-NERGY services has been implemented thanks to the invaluable contribution of cloud resources by the EGI-ACE project.
