Dissemination event for inhabitants of the multi-apartment residential buildings (renovation and financing)
On November 9, 2021, experts from the Riga Energy Agency (REA) together with representatives of the Nīcgale street 4 apartment owners association organized an online seminar.
The scope of the event was to discuss on renovation and financing possibilities for multi-apartment residential buildings as well as to introduce with the I–NERGY project and the Nīcgales street 4 building role in it.
This building is selected as one of four project pilot buildings in Riga. Smart meter data from these buildings are gathered during project implementation period. Additional to existing one’s meters smart meters for heating measures will be installed in selected apartments of Nīcgales street 4 building in upcoming months.
The seminar participants were introduced in detail with the results of the Nīcgales street 4 building energy audit. It confirmed that the building needs to take energy efficiency measures and have to be renovated. Only then the building heat consumption and costs will be significantly reduced.
The apartment owners were provided with information about the renovation process of the building, the available funding, as well as they got acquainted with the good practice in renovating the buildings and maintaining them.
REA representatives explained the most common myths about the cost of the building renovation process, the lack of credit obligations for the apartment property, the microclimate in the building after its renovation, etc.
The participants of the seminar decided to conduct a survey for the building residents about their willingness to participate in the building renovation and energy efficiency program, as well as to meet again in the future.
REA, for its part, confirmed its readiness to provide the necessary support and inform about I – NERGY project progress regarding sensors installation process.
